Following a recent groundbreaking, the Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital in Shenandoah is on track for a September opening.
Once complete, the $24 million acute care facility will house about 40 physicians, each of whom will specialize in different areas.
Jeff Crawford, vice president of development for Reliant Healthcare Partners, said the company plans to build more than 10 hospitals in the next two years.
"We really feel like there is a need," Crawford said, adding Shenandoah provides a good location for one of the Reliant hospitals.
"We really wanted to make sure it was in a centralized area to service from (FM) 1960 to the Conroe area," Crawford said.
Two key amenities offered by Reliant will be a state of the art rehabilitation gym and added privacy for patients, Crawford said.
"No other hospital has privacy in every room. Ours is built strictly for an acute rehab patient," Crawford said.
The new hospital will be located at 117 Vision Park Blvd. in Shenandoah.
