Conroe ISD receives Texas Education Agency (TEA) rating of exemplary 2010 district accountability rating

The Conroe Independent School District has received the 2010 District Accountability Rating from the Texas Education Agency and has earned an academic rating of Exemplary for the 2009-2010 school year; Exemplary is the highest rating from TEA. Last year the District was rated as Recognized. The Exemplary rating is based on the results of the most recent administration of the state required TAKS assessments. Highlights of the 2010 District Accountability Summary include all five of the Conroe ISD High Schools are once again rated Recognized, 96% of Conroe ISD schools earned the ratings of either Exemplary or Recognized, and the Completion Rate is 97.7%. The District’s completion rate is the highest of the fifty largest districts in the State for the second year in a row. The District is extremely proud of our students’ exceptional performance and of their improvement over last year’s performance in all 25 student performance measures. The Exemplary rating is the result of the combined efforts of students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community. This rating distinguishes Conroe ISD as the largest district in the State of Texas to ever achieve an Exemplary rating.
Superintendent Dr. Don Stockton said, “I am extremely proud of the success we continue to have in Conroe ISD. Credit goes to our students and teachers and the parents and community who support them. Conroe ISD has shown increases in student performance for seven consecutive years. Our focus is on student improvement and we are very proud that once again student performance has improved.”
